About the Cookies
Curlicue Bakery cookies are thick, soft, and flavored with real vanilla bean and almond emulsion. Every cookie is hand decorated with layers of royal icing. I use fresh, high quality ingredients, and lots of love and detail are put into each cookie. I truly enjoy designing and decorating cookies, and I love helping make your occasion a little more special.

They start at $30/dozen, and my minimum is one dozen minis as an add on to your full size cookies. Character and Copyright Cookies
I operate under the Texas Cottage Food Law, and as such am prohibited from making character or logo cookies to avoid copyright infringement. I do not make exceptions to this. I can design a set of cookies to coordinate with your decorations, invitations, theme, etc. but I do not copy images without permission from the owners of those images. That being said, there any many schools that allow bakers to reproduce their logos and copyrighted material with permission. If there is ample time before your event, I can possibly get permission to do logos, slogans, etc from the college or university.
Allergen Information
My cookies contain butter, sugar, eggs, flavorings, and flour. I use vanilla bean paste and almond emulsion. Please note that almond emulsion does not contain almonds, as noted in the link provided here.

I am not able to offer gluten free, dairy free, egg free, nut free, or any allergen free cookies. I bake out of my home, and all these ingredients are present in my home, so I am unable to certify that the cookies would be truly allergen free.

How to Order
After you email me directly at [email protected] or use the contact form, I will communicate with you to get all the details about the order. I will then email you a PayPal invoice. The invoice must be paid in full within 3 days to ensure that you are on my calendar. If the invoice is not paid within 7 days of the event, the invoice will be canceled. You will not be added to my schedule until your invoice is paid. I prefer PayPal for payment, and I do not accept checks.
Payment in full is required to guarantee your order on my schedule. If you cancel your event, you may carry your payment over to another event. In the case of an emergency and I am unable to fill the order, I will refund your payment 100%.

How far in advance should I order?
I require no less than 7 days in advance for an order. If for some reason I am able to accommodate your order on this short of notice, the invoice will need to be paid immediately. My calendar typically gets full 4-6 weeks in advance, so I recommend inquiring as soon as you finalize dates for your event. I also don't do custom orders during holidays.
Pickup
I bake out of my home according to the Texas Cottage Food Law, and all cookies are picked up from my home. I will schedule a pickup window for you, and I respectfully ask that you stick to that time schedule. Please treat your pickup times as any other appointment, and be punctual. If for some reason you are delayed, (traffic, unforeseen circumstances, etc) please let me know so we can make alternative arrangements.
What's the best way to communicate with you?
Email is my preference - [email protected]. If you've sent me a text message, Instagram DM, Facebook message, etc, I will still require an email with all written details. Telephone conversations are difficult due to my young children, and I am not always able to give you my full attention. If we do need to communicate over the phone, I will set a phone appointment when I can give you 100% of my attention. I will, however, still need to have a written order form filled out for my reference later.
About the Baker
Curlicue Bakery is a home-based bakery in Houston, Texas. I've been decorating sugar cookies for 10 years now! I have always loved to cook and bake, and I have enjoyed learning a great deal from my mother, grandmothers, and sisters. It started as a hobby for me, making cookies for my hubby to take to work and for my kids to share with their classmates and teachers. As I got more practice, my friends, family, hubby's coworkers, and children's teachers all encouraged me to try my hand at selling my goods. It's been a long journey of learning how to operate my own business, and I'm thankful for my experience as a production and office manager that helped me streamline and organize the business aspects of it (not the fun part!) I love all aspects of baking and decorating - from choosing shapes and colors, to adding a little flower here or some extra sparkle there, to contributing something handmade and unique to someone's special day, to watching people eat and enjoy my cookies.
I hope I can bake for your special moments soon! -Amy |
